Have a bit of a giggle. Like 'em or not, Cook and Moore were certainly different and cleverly humourous.
This track is one of the, ahem, cleaner (shall we say) I have considering their Derek and Clive sojourns.
Peter Cook was a friend of mine. Only the other day I rang him to ask why he hadn't rung me, to discover the git had died. Damed inconvenient. But that was Peter all over.
I went to London to meet Peter (and some others), went fro a drink etc., while my girlfriend (D) of the time solicited autographs from the other starlets who were appearing in "The Secret Policeman's Ball" (for radio) at that time (1978). I won't bore you with the details of why I was summoned for an audience with the papal greatness of comedy, just that I did. Having been a fan for some time, it was great to meet him and gutting that he died before I got the pint he promised to buy me.
This clip is a good one and exposed the partnership of Peter and li'l Dud as one of exception. Not to everyone's taste but that's what makes the world go round. I loved them both and in everything they did together or apart.
There'll be laughs abound upstairs tho'. Or even downstairs lol...
